Fontana di Trevi, Englewood
After opening a primarily to-go Mexican restaurant in the spot that had housed Emma on Palisade Avenue, Sandro Morales decided to scrap the Mexican theme and offer Italian eats instead. He named his new restaurant Fontana di Trevi, the same name of restaurants he had owned in New York City and Leonia with partners. The partnership dissolved and the restaurants shuttered, he said.
Why change from Mexican eats to Italian grub?
“This is more fine dining,” he said. “It’s not just to-go. I think it’s better for the time we’re in.”
Morales said he only needed to make cosmetic changes to the space. The BYOB seats 60. It does not have outdoor seating yet, but Morales plans to install some once the weather warms up.
On the menu: ravioli stuffed with mushrooms, fettuccine Bolognese, chicken parmigiana and veal scallopine in a lemon wine sauce.
The restaurant is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
